and believe me, there has been much ado. first i had an advanced chem bio final last week, which had been postponed for me cause of the honeymoon. and i had an arduous 3-hour writing exam to test out of a class that frankly, would be more painful than a DIY-enema with a garden hose. then i was dealing with those post-wedding blues, which i guess you get because you've spent about a year on 1 project and no matter how successful or great it was, it's done now and will never happen again. and now you're old. so what i can i say.
then i got all snarky with poor e$, the most dedicated of bridesmaids and friends, because she linked to my online wedding photos in her excitement. i hadn't figured out whether or not to post them but then i sort of thought, crikey i talk about my hemorrhoids and menstrual cycle on my blog, what's a few wedding photos?
and thus, my friends, you have it. posted below are my absolute favorite photos, which i think give a good representation of how it went down. i really want to get these out there before everyone forgets that we got married and stuff.

it may have set a 100-year record for rainfall in providence that day, and been a balmy new england high of low 50's after a week of sunny upper 70's...and i really had been dreaming of a barefoot ceremony on the sand, but you know, a wedding is a wedding. it runs away with you, heart and soul. it wakes you up at night in the months prior, heart racing from planning and financial stress...can you really expect it to cooperate on the day of?
the only two things that went wrong, during the whole shebang, were the crummy weather and the fact that none of us remembered to pick up my bouquet from the florist, and this became apparent as the music began playing for us to walk down the aisle. oops.
but everything else went right. i cried like a baby as my dad gave me away, but our vows went off without a hitch and everything about the ceremony seemed so poignant when i'd worried it would feel stale and same-old. i could barely hold it together. we managed to get some pics on the deck and kz said he knew i was having a great time when he asked if i wanted to get some pictures down by the water since it was only drizzling, and i said "nah" cause i just wanted to get the portraits over with and get back inside to that roaring party.
people had fun, it seems - i know i did. our dj pal was great and played all our favorite stuff we'd given him; the photographers were awesome, the caterers were friendly, and the BBQ and guinness went over well. we asked people to BYOB and let me tell you, they B'd a whole lot of B. we left with cases of guinness, smithwicks, sam and bottles of wine, not to mention the alarmingly large volume of thoughtful single malts and bottles of gin we received from friends who know us well.
the chocolate-filled dark chocolate cake with raspberry icing was a hit for those who paired it with the wise choice (guinness of course). our brothers said some touching words and then my little brother ken really cut the rug in his tux, showing bears' nephew dale how to breakdance and later, rave with some excessive light sticks to some crystal method. it was definitely that kind of party; once again, ladies and gentlemen, i pulled nearly all the pickups out of my gown (recall e$'s wedding). they aren't made for dancing. but like i was ever going to wear it again - i put that thing through its paces!
after the exhausting cleanup that couldn't have been accomplished without my mom, kz's whole family, the wedding party, various helpful TCITB and NESIC friends, and some reinforcements from my lab who arrived late just to help with the disassembly. i nearly cried all over again, just seeing how great all our friends and family are, and how happy they were to do this for us; it was pretty amazing. we headed back to the hotel and crammed 12+ very loud people (sorry, neighbors) into our room with luggage carts full of gifts, and proceeded to get some 2 am wendy's and wash it down with leftover champagne. from the bottle. we finally kicked everyone out at 4 am and 4 hours later, i got up to try to re-wrangle the brunch reservation at denny's (that is another story altogether). after breakfast and some teary goodbyes, bears and i drove off into the rainy hills and up to the white mts, where we spent 4 days of relaxed bliss, eating as much as we wanted and taking jacuzzi baths up to 4 times a day. yay!
and there you have it. i'm spent.
i'll get into some nuts and bolts - like how much a lot of stuff cost, our playlist, where we saved, what flowers we picked and made ourselves to save money, etc - on the
girly wedding blog.
