i am a new aunt; welcome into the world, olivia claire!!!
and congrats to my sis-in-law and my brother, who looks like a very happy (if somewhat bewildered) new dad!
perfect timing - she came about the night i arrived in NC, and i was so glad to get to meet her. i was afraid that seeing a newborn might activate some hormonal cascade that would entice me away from grad school and towards babies 'r' us. not to fear; shortly after our hospital visit, i dreamt about having a newborn myself, and while trying to find a way to stop its incessant crying, miraculously giving birth to a 2-year-old on the spot. it was terrifying; i'm all set. but i'm a charmed aunt, to be sure, and will love watching olivia as she grows. horray!

um, not to be a downer, but I think you'd have to pop out something that's at least five years old before the tough shit starts to slow down. And then send it to boarding school between the ages of 11 and 22. ;)

being an aunt is the best! you're allowed to spoil her and love her but never have to discipline her! it doesn't get much better than that!! congrats! she's beautiful!
