Friday means 2x margaritas

ok, so those drinks are barely visible and a bit wobbly...but there are definitely 2 chalice-sized house margaritas on that table, and i drank them both to their delicious salty dregs. followed it up with 10+ hours of sleep, hitting the gym, passing out on the couch for 4 hours midday, downing my sudafed with a large coffee, and a whirlwind of shopping, kitchen cleaning, laundry doing, and guacamole making. depressants and stimulants for the win.

of weekend miscellany

so i finally got around to editing this pic, which i sent from my phone on friday. it was supposed to be like, a living art rendition of 'friday evening traffic in the rain on 495 sucks ass,' but whatever.

i was too busy with our awesome weekend to get to it till now. scott and shanna's wedding on saturday was fantabulous; i actually have several numb toes still from dancing in those heels (no joke). yesterday, not only did we hit the gym, go out for breakfast, clean half the apt, and i spent 2 hours at barnes and noble studying - but i also got to see that strange glowing orb in the sky for about an hour. then macdaddy and nutz came over and we sacrificed pizza and mountain dew to the gods of i, robot and the big lebowski, on the projector. a satisfying 2-day respite.

and, today i stopped for gas *and* coffee, and still got to work on time. fulfilling that last part alone is usually a challenge for me on a monday.

Cha-cha-cha!

guacamole making is the perfect activity for a rainy day. grab yourself a hot boy, some local farmstand tomatoes, and get choppin.

then send him out again when you realized you forgot the lemons.

plop plop, fizz fizz

so today i decided to do nothing at work. to fill the time, we ate a lot instead.

a large iced dunkies and a fruit and nut breakfast bar. several fig newtons to keep me awake during lab meeting.

all this now occurs within a 2-hour timeframe:

indian buffet with coworkers for lunch. 2 trips for curry and tikki masala. two trips for rice pudding. mind you, i normally eat a yogurt and rice cakes for lunch.

then someone bought me a red bull, so i had to drink it not to be rude.

then someone upstairs told me that while my attempt to silence my burps was much appreciated, they still reeked of ethnic food and would i please go take an antacid from the stash in the office.

then they made me go out for "just one beer" to celebrate someone's finished thesis. i did indeed have just one, because if i'd attempted more, driving home would have been the least of my problems; i think i would have had a belly burst incident all monty python-style.

...like rabbits?

this is what i do when i am home after work, waiting for kz to arrive.
i play with my food.

these are two of my annie's cheddar bunnies, doing what bunnies do when they are bored, i suppose. i just wish they wouldn't do it on my leg.

bitchin technology!

i went to a drive-through (thru?) carwash today.

holy shit!

it was awesome. maybe you can tell i'd never been before. i usually fatigue my hand past numbness holding the squeezy nozzle in the do it yourself bay, fumbling for quarters and tripping over the hose. i often vacuum the crumpled dunkies straw wrappers, sand, dirt, mud, smallish rocks, blond hairballs, road salt, pine needles, and coins of nickel denomination and under from my floors, which always costs about 6 bucks. by "often" i mean twice yearly.

then the other day (like months ago) i got a little booklet of free simoniz car wash coupons from nutz and libs. feeling adventurous, i pulled in and decided to give it a go today. it was painfully obvious to all that i was a total n00b at pulling onto the little 2001: space odyssey conveyor belt, and i nearly stalled from the excitement of it all.

i can't describe how cool all the spraying soap was, nor the flupping rubbers, the tumbling twisties, the wooshing streamers nor the squeaking squeegees. i'll just note that i exclaimed "WHOA!" a lot to myself and braced as the air-drying blowers nearly dented my roof and lifted my hood clean off.

it's like an amusement ride, only better. cause it makes things clean. i need to find one of these that can fit my whole apartment. seriously, i love this invention.
